Quiet Light is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Quiet Light mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account details (e.g., email address, if you create an account)
- Messages, prompts, and inputs you submit during reflection sessions
- For premium users: conversation history to enable continuity across sessions
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (type, OS version, unique identifiers)
- App usage data (interactions, session duration, crashes)
- Subscription and billing status (via app store providers)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have such data, we will delete it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalize reflective responses
- Maintain conversation continuity for premium users
- Improve app performance, security, and features
- Process subscriptions and manage access
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. AI Processing & Data Usage
Your inputs are processed by AI systems (via Replit AI Integrations, including OpenRouter routing to models like Grok) solely to generate reflective responses in the moment.
We do not use your conversations to train or improve AI models. Human review occurs only for safety, abuse prevention, or legal compliance (rare and limited).
Metadata (e.g., token counts, timestamps) is retained briefly for performance and billing purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We share limited information only with:
- Service providers (hosting, analytics, app stores for billing)
- AI providers via Replit/OpenRouter (e.g., xAI for Grok) — under strict no-training policies for paid endpoints
- Legal authorities when required by law
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the App, fulfill subscriptions, or meet legal obligations. Conversation history for premium users is retained to support reflection unless you request deletion.
You may request deletion of your data (subject to legal exceptions) via the App or support@quietlight.app.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
7. Children's Privacy & Safety
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If we discover such data, we delete it.
The App is not intended for crisis support. If you are in distress, contact professionals or emergency services immediately (e.g., 988 in the US).
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Opt out of any sale/sharing (we do not sell data)
- Limit use of sensitive information (if applicable)
Submit requests via the App or support@quietlight.app. We respond within legal timeframes.
9. International Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States or other countries. We use safeguards to protect transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be notified in-app.
