Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Dagaz Apps LLC (“Quiet Light,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Quiet Light mobile application (iOS and Android) and this website at quietlight.app (together, the “Services”).
This document is a disclosure of our practices. Using the Services does not, by itself, constitute consent to processing where a different legal basis is required (for example, under the GDPR). Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it separately — including in-app acknowledgment of this policy.
Controller. Dagaz Apps LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Privacy and rights requests: support@quietlight.app. Studio site: dagazapps.com.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details (email address, and any name or profile fields you enter)
- Messages, prompts, and other inputs you submit during reflection sessions
- Saved reflections, memory-related data, and conversation history (especially for signed-in and Premium users)
- Support emails and account-deletion requests
Information collected automatically
- Device information (type, OS version, app version, platform)
- IP address (used for daily usage limits, security, and abuse prevention)
- App-generated identifiers (including a guest identifier when you use the App without an account)
- Usage data needed to operate the App (session activity, crashes, feature use related to reflections and subscriptions)
- Subscription and entitlement status via Apple, Google, and RevenueCat (we do not receive your full payment card number)
Website
quietlight.app is a static marketing site. We do not run advertising pixels or analytics scripts on this site. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. If you email us from a link on the site, we receive whatever you send.
Guest mode
You may use core features without creating an account. We still process the messages you send to generate responses, and we record your IP address and an app-generated guest identifier (when available) to apply daily limits and prevent abuse. We do not require an email address in guest mode.
Sensitive content you may choose to write
Quiet Light is not a health service and we do not ask you for medical information. If you write about health, mood, or other sensitive topics in a reflection, that text is processed as user content to generate a reply and — if you have an account with history enabled — to store the thread. We do not use it for advertising. Treat reflections as private writing you choose to share with an AI system.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Provide, personalize, and operate reflective responses
- Maintain conversation continuity, saved reflections, and memory features for eligible users
- Apply daily limits, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure
- Process subscriptions, restore purchases, and manage Premium access
- Send transactional email (for example, password reset or account notices) when you have an account
- Improve reliability and understand aggregate product use
- Comply with law and respond to your requests (including deletion)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your reflections for advertising or for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not build advertising profiles.
3. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar laws)
Where those laws apply, we process personal data on these bases:
- Contract — to provide the App you asked to use, including generating responses, accounts, and paid features you purchase
- Legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention, rate limits, aggregate product improvement, and defending legal claims, in ways that do not override your rights
- Legal obligation — tax, accounting, or lawful requests
- Consent — where we ask for it (for example, in-app acceptance of this policy). You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that does not rely on consent
4. AI processing
Your inputs are sent to AI infrastructure so the App can generate a response in the moment. We route requests through an API gateway (currently OpenRouter) to model providers. Providers may include xAI, OpenAI, and other models we select over time. The specific model can change as we operate the service.
We do not use your conversations to train our own models. We configure paid API endpoints with no-training / no-retention options where the provider offers them. Providers may still process content briefly to deliver the completion and to monitor for abuse, as described in their own terms.
Human review of conversation content occurs only for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or if you send it to us in a support request — not for marketing.
Metadata such as token counts and timestamps may be retained for performance, billing, and abuse prevention.
5. How we share information
We share limited information with processors who help us run the Services:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
- Apple and Google — app distribution and in-app purchases
- RevenueCat — subscription status and purchase verification
- OpenRouter and underlying model providers — to generate responses
- Resend — transactional email (account, reset, deletion correspondence)
- Professional advisers under confidentiality, if needed
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
- A successor, if we sell or reorganize the business, under appropriate safeguards
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Services, fulfill subscriptions, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Conversation history for signed-in and Premium users is retained to support reflection until you delete it or we close the account. Guest technical data for rate limits is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
You may request deletion in the App (Settings → account → Delete Account), by emailing support@quietlight.app, or via quietlight.app/delete-account.html (available after uninstall). Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately with Apple or Google. We may retain limited records where the law requires (for example, billing proof held by the stores).
7. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and industry-standard hosting. No system is fully secure. Transmission of reflections to AI providers is necessary for the App to work; we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, or under the digital-consent age in your country if higher (up to 16 in parts of the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have such data, we delete it. Parents or guardians: email support@quietlight.app.
Quiet Light is not crisis support. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services. In the United States, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California and certain other U.S. state residents may also have rights to know categories of personal information, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CPRA. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right-to-limit notice. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Submit requests in the App, at delete-account.html, or by emailing support@quietlight.app. We will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent as permitted by law.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States. Information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may not provide the same legal protections as your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by our providers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
11. Do not track; automated decisions
The website does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. We do not track you across third-party sites for advertising. AI responses are generated automatically for the purpose of the reflection you requested; they are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you (credit, employment, insurance, or the like).
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The version number and “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted here and, for the App, users may be asked to re-acknowledge the policy in-app. Continued use after an update applies to later collection; it does not retroactively change how we handled information already collected, except as the law allows.
