Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Dagaz Apps LLC (“Quiet Light,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Quiet Light mobile application on iOS and Android (the “App”) and this website at quietlight.app (the “Site”). The App and Site together are the “Services.”
By accessing or using the Services, or by tapping to accept these Terms in the App, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Read this. Quiet Light is an AI reflection companion, not a person, not therapy, and not a medical device. Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors. You use it at your own risk. Emergency help is never inside the App — use local emergency services (988 in the US). Crisis protocol: quietlight.app/safety.html.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum digital-consent age in your country if higher, and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. We ask for your date of birth so we can refuse use under 13 and apply additional safeguards if you are under 18. If you are 13 or older but under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the Services, and they agree to these Terms and are responsible for your use. Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
2. Nature of the service — important disclaimers
Quiet Light is an AI-powered symbolic reflection companion intended solely for personal contemplation, creativity, and general exploration. All interactions are with artificial intelligence, not a human. Responses are generated automatically.
The Services are not a medical device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or mental-health condition. They are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or any other advice. They do not provide crisis counseling. We may include minimal grounding language in high-intensity moments; that is not a therapeutic intervention.
If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or any emergency, contact emergency services, a crisis line (for example, 988 in the United States), or a qualified professional immediately. Do not use the App as your safety plan.
Crisis protocol: Safety. More detail: Disclaimer.
3. AI content and your responsibility
You acknowledge that:
- All generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, offensive, or fictional (“hallucinations”)
- Outputs are not facts, professional opinions, diagnoses, or the beliefs of Dagaz Apps LLC
- You are solely responsible for how you interpret and act on any response, and for evaluating Output before you rely on it or share it
- You will not rely on the Services for medical, mental-health, legal, or financial decisions, or as the sole source of truth
- Use of the Services and of any output is at your own risk
- Outputs may not be unique; other people may receive similar language, and your rights in Output do not limit theirs
We may apply daily limits and other rate limits to protect the Services and other users.
4. Accounts and subscriptions
You may use core features as a guest. Creating an account lets you manage a profile, sync certain data, and subscribe. An optional paid subscription (“Quiet Light Premium”) may unlock additional companions, enhanced reflection depth, memory features, and a different daily rhythm, as described in the App at the time of purchase.
If you create an account, provide accurate and complete information and keep it current. Do not share your credentials or make your account available to anyone else. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you create an account or use the Services on behalf of another person or entity, you must have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
Fees, payments, and cancellation
If you purchase Quiet Light Premium or any other paid aspect of the Services, billing is handled by Apple or Google using the payment method on your store account. You must keep that billing information complete and accurate. For paid subscriptions, the store will automatically charge on each periodic renewal until you cancel. Tax or other applicable fees may be charged when required. If a payment is not successful, we may remove Premium access until payment is restored through the store.
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time. Cancel in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings — in the App, Settings → Manage Subscription opens that page — and turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You keep Premium until the period you already paid for ends. Deleting the App or your Quiet Light account does not cancel the store subscription.
Payments already made are non-refundable, except where required by law. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time in a billing period. Apple or Google may refund under their own policies; those requests go to the store, not to us. For questions about payments or cancellation, email support@quietlight.app.
Price
The price, currency, billing period, and included features are those displayed by Apple or Google at the time you subscribe — not a price listed in an older copy of these Terms. We do not set the storefront’s displayed local price.
We may adjust subscription prices periodically. Subject to applicable law, if prices increase, we will give you reasonable notice, and the new price will apply at your next renewal, so you can cancel if you disagree. Notice may be in-app, by email, through the store, or by other reasonable means. Material changes to paid features will be described in the store listing or in-app.
Introductory trial
If Apple or Google offer an introductory free trial, the length and the price after the trial are shown in the App and by the store before you confirm. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription renews at the then-current price and continues until you cancel.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for illegal, abusive, exploitative, or harmful purposes, including harm to people or property
- Sexualize or exploit children, or create, request, or share child sexual abuse material. We report suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, jailbreak, use prompt injection, or otherwise circumvent rate limits, safety measures, or security
- Scrape, harvest, resell, or distill Inputs or Outputs to build competing models or services
- Impersonate a real person, or use the Services to violate another’s privacy or publicity rights
- Use Outputs to make high-stakes automated decisions about anyone (for example credit, employment, housing, insurance, legal, or medical decisions)
- Misrepresent the App’s outputs as human professional advice, or as coming from Dagaz Apps LLC when they do not
- Upload malware or attempt to access other users’ data
- Use the Services if you are a prohibited party under U.S. export or sanctions laws
We may suspend or terminate access, and may remove content, for violations, abuse, or risk to the service or others. Report violations to support@quietlight.app.
6. Your content and our license
You retain ownership of the text you submit. You grant Dagaz Apps LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the Services, prevent abuse, comply with law, and as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your reflections.
You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not infringe others’ rights. Generated outputs are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not resell, bulk-redistribute, or commercially exploit the Services or outputs without our written permission.
We may remove or disable content that violates these Terms, including for safety, legal, or intellectual-property reasons. Automated systems and, when needed, our personnel may review how the Services are used for security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
7. Intellectual property
We own the Service
We and our licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including the App, Site, personas (Quiet Light, Quiet Sun, and Quiet Moon), design, software, and our trademarks. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you except the limited license to use the Services as allowed here.
Usage Data relating to the Service
We may collect, or you may provide to us, diagnostic, technical, usage, and related information, including information about your computers, mobile devices, systems, and software (collectively, “Usage Data”). Usage Data does not include the text of your reflections, which remains yours under Section 6. All Usage Data is and will be owned solely and exclusively by us, and, to the extent any ownership rights in or to the Usage Data vest in you, you hereby assign to us all rights (including intellectual property rights), title, and interest in and to the same. Accordingly, we may use, maintain, and/or process the Usage Data or any portion thereof for any lawful purpose, including: (a) to provide and maintain the Services; (b) to improve or develop our products and services; (c) to monitor your usage of the Services; (d) for research and analytics, including data analysis, identifying usage trends, and customer or market research; (e) to share analytics and other derived Usage Data with service providers who help us operate the Services; and (f) to process for safety, security, and analytics, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
Feedback
To the extent you provide us any suggestions, recommendations, or other feedback relating to the Services or to any other Dagaz Apps LLC products or services (collectively, “Feedback”), you hereby assign to us all rights (including all intellectual property rights), title, and interest in and to the Feedback. Accordingly, we are free to use the Feedback and any ideas, know-how, concepts, techniques, and other intellectual property contained in the Feedback, without providing any attribution or compensation to you, for any purpose whatsoever. We are not required to use any Feedback.
Copyright complaints: email support@quietlight.app with “Copyright” in the subject, a description of the work, the location of the material, your contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We will respond as required by the DMCA.
8. Privacy and data security
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how we use it. It is part of these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we may collect, use, and disclose your personal information and aggregated, pseudonymized, and/or de-identified data as set forth in that policy, and that your personal information will be transferred to, and/or processed in, the United States.
Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures or to use your data for improper purposes. You acknowledge that you provide your data at your own risk. You will notify us immediately at support@quietlight.app of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account, and you will immediately take action to secure your account, including by changing your password.
9. Third-party services
The Services depend on Apple, Google, RevenueCat, hosting providers, and AI model providers. Those parties have their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, store policies, or a provider’s independent processing. Links on the Site are for convenience only.
10. Changes and availability
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and, for material App changes, asking you to re-accept in-app. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and cancel any subscription. We may modify or suspend the Services at any time. If we discontinue the Services, Section 15 applies. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES, OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON OR THROUGH THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, ABILITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DAGAZ APPS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE FUNCTIONS OR FEATURES OF THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE THAT ANY USE OF CONTENT, MATERIALS, OUTPUTS, OR YOUR CONTENT FROM THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK, AND YOU WILL NOT RELY ON OUTPUT AS THE SOLE SOURCE OF TRUTH OR FACTUAL INFORMATION, OR AS PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE, SAFE, APPROPRIATE, OR USEFUL FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS.
Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimer applies to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DAGAZ APPS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, PERSONAL INJURY, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, ANY OUTPUT, OR THESE TERMS — WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50).
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO THE SERVICES OR YOUR ACCOUNT, INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF TRANSMISSION, BUGS OR MALWARE TRANSMITTED BY THIRD PARTIES, OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY — EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT CAUSED BY OUR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR WHERE THE LAW FORBIDS THAT LIMIT.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, where forbidden: fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under mandatory consumer-protection laws, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions.
13. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dagaz Apps LLC and its members, managers, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your use of the Services, your content, your reliance on outputs as professional advice, or your violation of these Terms or of others’ rights — except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
14. Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement.
Informal resolution. Before filing a claim, email support@quietlight.app with a brief description of the dispute and allow 30 days for us to try to resolve it.
Arbitration. Except for the exceptions below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration is Miami, Florida. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that prohibits mandatory arbitration of this type of dispute, that prohibition controls.
Class waiver. You and we agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding, to the extent such a waiver is permitted by law. Where permitted by law, you and we also waive the right to a jury trial.
Opt out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@quietlight.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, account email (if any), and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration.
Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim related to the Services must be filed within one (1) year after it arose, or it is permanently barred. This does not apply where a longer period is required by mandatory law.
15. Termination, suspension, discontinuation
Termination or suspension
You are free to stop using the Services at any time and to close your account. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services, cancel your subscription or account, or delete your account at any time without notice to you if we determine, at our sole discretion, that: (a) you breached these Terms or our acceptable-use rules; (b) we must do so to comply with the law; (c) your use of the Services could cause risk or harm to Dagaz Apps LLC, our users, or anyone else; or (d) your account has been inactive for more than 120 days.
No refund
Upon termination of the Services or of your account, you will not be entitled to any refund, except where required by law. Cancel any store subscription separately. Deleting the App or your Quiet Light account does not cancel Apple or Google billing.
Appeals
If you believe we have suspended or terminated your account in error, you can file an appeal by emailing support@quietlight.app.
Discontinuation
We may decide to discontinue the Services. If we do, we will provide you notice and any applicable refund for prepaid, unused service, including through Apple or Google where the store handles that refund.
Sections that by their nature should survive (including 2–3, 5–14, 16–18, and this Section 15) survive termination.
16. Apple App Store — additional terms
To use the App you need a compatible device. We do not warrant that the App will work on every device. The App may use mobile data; you are responsible for carrier charges. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use a compiled copy of the App on devices you own or control, solely in accordance with these Terms and Apple or Google’s rules. That license is not a sale of the App. The App may update automatically.
If you downloaded the App from Apple’s App Store:
- This EULA is between you and Dagaz Apps LLC only, not with Apple Inc. Apple is not obligated to furnish maintenance or support.
- Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the App. Any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to a warranty are our sole responsibility (subject to these Terms).
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product-liability, consumer-protection, or intellectual-property claims.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and may enforce it against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
17. Google Play — additional terms
If you downloaded the App from Google Play, you also agree that (a) these Terms are between you and Dagaz Apps LLC, not Google; (b) Google has no obligation to provide support; (c) Google is a third-party beneficiary of the Play-related provisions and may enforce them; and (d) your use of Google Play is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Refunds for Play purchases are handled by Google under Google’s policies, except where law requires otherwise.
18. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the provision will be modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale. Any attempted assignment by you is void.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including provider outages.
- Export. You will comply with U.S. export, re-export, and sanctions laws in your use of the Services, including OFAC rules. You represent that you are not a prohibited or restricted party, and that you are not located in, a national or resident of, or acting for a government of, a country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. embargoes.
California residents
If you are a California resident, in accordance with Cal. Civ. Code §1789.3, you may report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210 or (916) 445-1254.
European consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, mandatory consumer laws apply and are not limited by these Terms. Where those laws give you a right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, you may email support@quietlight.app. Digital-content exceptions and Apple or Google refund rules may apply. We do not file a paper copy of the contract.
