Welcome to Quiet Light. By accessing or using the Quiet Light mobile application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. Nature of the Service & Important Disclaimers
Quiet Light is an AI-powered symbolic reflection companion intended solely for personal contemplation, creativity, and general exploration. All interactions are with artificial intelligence — not a human — and responses are generated automatically.
The App is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or any other advice. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage mental health conditions, emotional distress, or crises. If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or any emergency, immediately contact emergency services, a crisis hotline (e.g., 988 in the US), or a qualified professional.
We may include minimal grounding suggestions in high-intensity moments, but these are not therapeutic interventions.
3. AI Content & Accuracy Disclaimer
You acknowledge that:
- All content is generated by AI and may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, incompleteness, or fictional elements
- Outputs do not represent facts, professional opinions, or the beliefs of Quiet Light
- You are solely responsible for evaluating, interpreting, and acting on any response
- Use of the App and its outputs is at your own risk
4. Accounts & Subscriptions
The App offers free access to core features and premium subscriptions for additional presences and capabilities. Subscriptions are recurring and managed through your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).
Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal via your app store account settings. No refunds for partial periods except as required by law. Pricing and features may change with notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the App for illegal, abusive, or harmful purposes; harass others; attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent protections; or misuse the service in ways that violate these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, personas, AI models, design, and generated content (except your inputs) are owned by Quiet Light or licensors. You retain ownership of your inputs but grant us a license to process them for service delivery.
Outputs are for personal, non-commercial use only. No redistribution or commercial exploitation without permission.
7. Privacy
Your use is governed by our Privacy Policy (linked in the App), which describes data collection, use, and protection. By using the App, you consent to those practices.
8. Changes to Terms & Service Availability
We may update these Terms; continued use constitutes acceptance. The App is provided "as is" — no guarantee of uninterrupted access or error-free performance.
9. Termination & Disputes
We may terminate access for violations. You may stop using the App anytime. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Miami, Florida (or your jurisdiction if required by law), waiving class actions where permitted.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quiet Light and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages (including emotional distress) arising from use of the App. The App is provided "as is" without warranties.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
